Happy Birthday to my son Isaac! You are now 2 years old. I sit here remembering your birth, remembering how excited we were when we found out that you would be entering the world in 9 months (best Christmas Eve gift); I am so thankful for your little life.

It took you a while to enter the world ( 24 hours worth of laboring and contractions with 2 hours of pushing to get you out!) but what joy you brought with you. You entered the world covered in prayer as it was Sunday and your grandma kept updating the church on how to pray and when you arrived they all shouted for joy (John 16:21). The best part is we have it recorded for you to hear, your cool pop was preaching that night on Romans 6.
Two years later from that Sunday night you have grown so much! You are a hard worker and a good listener, I love that you like to help daddy outside and mommy with cooking. You are an adventurer jumping off of things that making mommy worried and wanting to see all the wild things there are outside (lizards, ants, giant grasshoppers, birds...) You are a worshipper who loves to sing and dance and pray. I remember the night daddy was going to pray for me and your sisters and you were playing on the floor. He told you we were going to pray and you quickly got up, ran over and put your hand on me. My little one always be swift to do the work of the Lord and listen to his voice.
I cannot wait to see the adventures we go on this year, the things you will learn, the ways you will grow, my heart overflows with love for you. My prayer is always that you would grow strong in stature and in spirit following after Jesus and loving him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. (And as was said of Samuel ... And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favor both with the Lord, and also with men. 1Samuel 2:27.)
