Adventures in packing Part 2- Guess the Weight

I will be on a plane in 13 1/2 hours! A plane headed to Denver, Co (well first to Atlanta, Ga). So naturally I waited to the very last minute to pack my suit case It's what all world travelers do, I hear. (Please note I have no clue what real world travelers do, I am barely a state traveler.) However I am pleased to announce after hours of taking things out (entire closet will not fit in a 24 inch suit case, and my attempts proved only to amuse family members) my suit case is packed! But it feels like a rock, apparently airlines have restrictions on suitcases weighing a ton, in fact they can't wait more than 50lbs or you have to give them your first born child, I mean a lot of money. And to think they are threatening to start charging for carry on too!

Due to fear of paying very high luggage fees we took my suit case to Publix, it's not just a grocery store, it's also your neighborhood luggage weigh station, and played a rousing game of guess the weight! Now first we held the suit case, than we held a child (one of my younger siblings) who claimed they weighed 50lbs to see the comparison than we guessed. What do you think it weighed?
Well if you guessed 37lbs you would be right! My dad was the closest with a whooping 35lbs while I was way off at 60lbs (I'm telling you this thing was heavy!) Having weighed 13lbs under the maximum I was free to add a few more things, thus shrinking my carry on. No longer will I look like a bag lady at the airport!!!! Please pray for no luggage mishaps.
