Through the lens
I was enjoying the setting sun one day, walking about the Ellerslie lawns and discovering a whole new world through the lens of my camera...
when I stumbled upon the most curious of sites:
Bees! Bees asleep in the middle of the sunflower I was admiring. Sunflowers I found are thriving metropolises for ladybugs (I love ladybugs! And recently I love capturing them on film.) and apparently they are the perfect spot for a bee to rest its antennae at night.
And yes they are indeed asleep, I poked at the flower and no movement. I came back the next morning and they weren't there, I visited them the next evening and sure enough there one was settling in for the night.
I never imagined I would find such a fascinating world in the petals of a sunflower. It seems to me to be the stuff of fables, the sunflower, the lady bug, and the very sleepy bee. Oh, the wonders of God's creation!

Yup, that's me, behind the camera yet still in front of the lens. |
