Friday Mornings

I woke up this morning to raindrops steadily drip dropping on my window and kiddos sneaking into my room. A quiet moment with my coffee and Bible turned into a whirlwind as little feet jumped on my bed, a mass of arms and legs and giggles. How I love Friday mornings where the house stays quiet for just a bit longer and the day's routine adds in more time for snuggles and laughter.

A quick glance at my calendar reveals that January is almost gone and February will soon be making an appearance. My how quickly the pages turn. A saying I have grown fond of says, "the days are long, but the weeks are short." By the end of a day the beginning seems to be a blur, how I got from there to here I don't quite know. A step here, a moment there, and soon the day was done and sooner still the year. I don't want the days to just pass one page after another, I want to savor them, to rejoice in them, to redeem them.

This year I intend to rejoice in each day, each moment, each week. Rejoice, for there is so much to rejoice in, if you are a child of God there is an abundance! (The blood of Jesus Christ that has washed us clean and made us accepted, that has saved us to the uttermost!)

I will be a collector of moments, memories that I can look upon with smiles, with laughter, with triumph, with joy; and some possibly with tears, and others with a knowing look of wisdom gained, and others still with determination. I will cherish what has been given to me.

Thursday, January 26, 2012- Reading at the kitchen table with my brother Walker and him after every page turning it to me so I could see saying, "See the page,"with a big grin on his face.

Sunday, January 15, 2012- Kiddos buttering me up with freshly picked flowers and notes and little gifts making sure I'd give them cookies after dinner.

Saturday, January 14, 2012- Walker fixing the bike with his tools.

Monday, January 9, 2012- The kids playing in the back yard: Grace keeping shop, Walker being the big bad wolf, and Hope taking care of him.

Saturday, January 21, 2012- Faith my sister to laugh with.

"This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it!" Psalm 118:24
