Wind Swept

I wish I could capture it on film, but must be contented to take snapshots only of what it leaves behind, hair gone askew, a billowing skirt, a dancing palm. I love the island breezes of Florida.
And yesterday as I sat inside a bright yellow Florida house, taking in the truths of the Word of God from a visiting preacher, it struck me how much I enjoy it here. It is February and most of the country is still snuggled down deep in their blankets as winter continues on, but not so in Florida. The weather is warm and balmy, the grasses are green, and the flowers still vibrant. The sea breezes drift from the shores and visits often. I am content here. I lift up praises to a good God who allows his children to devise their ways while still directing their steps (Proverbs 16:9). I thank him for the wonder of what he created and the testimonies his creation brings. I thank him for the fellowship of the brethren, the body of believers that surrounds me here. I praise him because he is God and worthy of all praise.
Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the name of the Lord; praise him, O ye servants of the Lord.... He causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries. ~ Psalm 135: 1, 7
